THE SITUATION

Winch operators often winch or pull heavy weighted items that require the use of steel cables. However, when the cable assembly is deployed there is usually a high-tension force which could force the cable to snap, endangering the lives of workers.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The Backlash Stopper is designed as multiple discs made from recycled tires and is easy to install. Simply hook the Backlash Stopper to your cable before pulling. When the cable or rope snaps, the Backlash Stopper deadens the cable or rope, preventing dangerous cable backlash caused by unforeseen breakage to the towing cable. It comes in different sizes as well as accommodates different load sizes, 

OBJECTIVES

The developers of the Backlash Stopper are offering to license the manufacturing and distribution rights to qualified organizations. These organizations should be capable of producing the product and/or accessing the appropriate markets with the product.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY PROTECTION
The Backlash Stopper is the subject of Patent Pending in Canada and the US. Other territories are being considered on an as needed basis.
