HERNIA INSERT
MISSION STATEMENT
To supply the global market with a simple solution to prevent hernia distention and rupturing the biological or metal mesh.
THE SITUATION
To help prevent hernia distention and rupturing the biological or metal mesh, a binder is often worn post-surgery by patients. However, it is difficult to prevent the insides from pushing out when trying to perform everyday activities, such as picking up a heavy object or bending down.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Hernia Insert assists with internal abdominal pressure for patients with pre-op issues, post-op physiotherapy, and everyday activities. The whole of the person’s hernia is measured by laser 3D imagery, plaster casting or MRI to determine the exact shape and hernia depression over mesh. Once the insert is placed inside the binder it helps keeps the mesh from distending while performing strenuous activities that otherwise wouldn’t be done normally. It can be any type of binder, like one would pump up air bladder to support lumbar and have tens device to relieve back pain. It is easy to wash, flexible or solid, can be made to fit different type and size of ventral hernias as well as work with different binder models.
OBJECTIVES
The developers of the Hernia Insert are offering to license the manufacturing and distribution rights to qualified organizations. These organizations should be capable of producing the product and/or accessing the appropriate markets with the product.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY PROTECTION
The Hernia Insert is the subject of Patent Pending in the United States & Canada. Other territories are being considered on an as needed basis.
