MISSION STATEMENT

To supply the global market with an innovative solution to allow goalies playing roller and floor hockey to move laterally quickly as they do while playing ice hockey.

THE SITUATION

While playing roller and floor hockey, goalies are required to make quick lateral movements to stop shots from all angles. It is difficult for goalies to cover both sides of the net when they are flat footed compared to being able to slide side to side as goalies do while playing ice hockey. To solve this problem, and give goalies back their competitive advantage, we created Power-Slide, simulating on-ice conditions, allowing goalies to swiftly move post to post.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

A flexible yet protective shoe for floor and roller hockey goalies includes a horizontal roller/wheel positioned on the bottom sole – middle to heel. To activate, the goalie simply leans forward to push off, and then transfers their body weight to engage the wheel to roll, ultimately transforming the goalie position. Power-Slide replicates on-ice skates for goalies to enhance their speed and agility. 

OBJECTIVES

The developers of the Power-Slide are offering to license the manufacturing and distribution rights to qualified organizations. These organizations should be capable of producing the product and/or accessing the appropriate markets with the product.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY PROTECTION

The Power-Slide is the subject of Patent Pending in the United States & Canada. Other territories are being considered on an as needed basis.
