THE SITUATION

The media within many different caulking tubes hardens after a few days once the tip is cut off, even if capped or plugged.  Apart from the media itself, it is the application tip of the nozzle that is paramount to the application. Once the media has hardened it is virtually impossible to unclog it, this is a function of the tapered nozzle and is unavoidable. Cutting back the nozzle effectively ruins the efficiency as the bigger opening causes the media to be too thick and heavy. In most cases the unusable product goes into the waste stream.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The Caulking Tube Tip Replacement System and Method requires sliding a thread cutting device down over the existing nozzle and cutting a thread, the nozzle is then cut off at the top of the new thread (the media at this point is still pliable). A new nozzle is then threaded on and the tip cut to the required size for the job. The nozzle can now be removed and replaced with a new one for the next application. The product can be packaged with the thread cutting device and three or four tips. Additional tips can be packaged and sold separately. 

OBJECTIVES

The developers of the Caulking Tube Tip Replacement System and Method are offering to license the manufacturing and distribution rights to qualified organizations. These organizations should be capable of producing the product and accessing the appropriate markets with the product.
