MISSION STATEMENT

To supply the global market with a simple solution to help individuals with hyper mobility syndrome continue to do their everyday activities without the pain of constant hyperextending fingers.

THE SITUATION

People who have hyper mobility syndrome such as Ehlers-Danlos often struggle with everyday activities such as writing or holdings things due to the pain of hyperextension. Treatment often includes physical therapy and medicine, however, without the aid of a device many patients are still unable to control their movements.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This Harness helps individuals continue to do their everyday activities without the pain of constant hyperextending fingers. The harness works by running elastic slightly shorter than the distance of the fingertip to wrist. The tension of the elastic pulls fingers forward in a curved wresting position preventing unconscious hyperextension. Each finger connected to the wrist allows the user flex and straighten fingers. The velcro wrist makes it easy to adjust for comfort, making it easy to do everyday activities.

OBJECTIVES

The developers of this harness are offering to license the manufacturing and distribution rights to qualified organizations. These organizations should be capable of producing the product and/or accessing the appropriate markets with the product.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY PROTECTION

This harness is the subject of Patent Pending in Canada and the US. Other territories are being considered on an as needed basis.
