For decades, the trucking industry has relied on brute force to transport freight, without making significant strides toward improving safety and creating more opportunities for individuals entering the field, such as women who possess excellent driving skills but lack the physical strength of their male counterparts. It is high time for a shift towards safer and more efficient methods of handling freight. As a response, I have designed four innovative devices - the Side Winder, a Ratchet Handle, a Corner Bracket to prevent load shifting, and a device for tensioning straps to the breaking point and releasing tension easily. Through discussions with numerous truckers, it has become evident that there is a widespread belief in the need for a better way of handling freight. Fortunately, the compensation board shares these concerns about the safety of truckers and has been actively pursuing solutions.

Millions of commercial tractor trailers travel the roadways every day delivering goods to various businesses. The flatbed style trailer is utilized to carry various items that either can’t be loaded into a box trailer or perhaps have a larger size, such as steel construction beams and logged trees. Operators of the tractor-trailers are required to secure the cargo load to comply with roadway safety regulations. The most common technique of securing cargo is to utilize nylon straps, which are often several inches wide and are capable of withstanding high stress loads. After the cargo is unloaded, retrieval of the straps is often very time consuming and difficult.

Which is why we created the Sidewinder, to help truckers effectively retrieve their tie-down straps after goods are unloaded. The device attaches to the rail of the tractor. Once the trailer is unloaded you can easily wind down the tie-down strap. It is easy to use, convenient, and saves considerable time for the user.
