THE SITUATION

Millions of commercial tractor trailers travel the roadways every day delivering goods to various businesses. The flatbed style trailer is utilized to carry various items that either can’t be loaded into a box trailer or perhaps have a larger size, such as steel construction beams and logged trees. Operators of the tractor-trailers are required to secure the cargo load to comply with roadway safety regulations. The most common technique of securing cargo is to utilize nylon straps, which are often several inches wide and are capable of withstanding high stress loads. After the cargo is unloaded, retrieval of the straps is often very time consuming and difficult. Which is why we created the Sidewinder. 

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The Sidewinder helps truckers effectively retrieve their tie-down straps after goods are unloaded. The device attaches to the rail of the tractor. Once the trailer is unloaded you can easily wind down the tiedown strap. It includes a roller assembly that is rotatably coupled to the main support member and includes a support plate and a plurality of mounting rods secured. It is easy to use, convenient, and saves considerable time for the user.

OBJECTIVES

The developers of the Sidewinder are offering to license the manufacturing and distribution rights to qualified organizations. These organizations should be capable of producing the product and/or accessing the appropriate markets with the product.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY PROTECTION
The Sidewinder is the subject of Patent Pending in Canada and the US. Other territories are being considered on an as needed basis.
