THE SITUATION
Chainsaws are often utilized for cutting logs used for heating, building furniture, making crafts, as well as to trim or cut down trees on one’s yard. However, chainsaws require much maneuvering, can be dangerous, noisy, cause pollution and are challenging for people with disabilities to operate.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Compound Electric Chainsaw provides a safe and ergonomic method to cut wood by using a compound mitre saw format that has a fixed base structure and handle at the top of the bar for control and chain activation. It is designed to rotate through 100 + degree angle of travel with the handle controlling the direction of the device. The electric motor reduces emissions, there is an increased safety of operation, one handed operation, reduction in noise levels, reduced maintenance and operation costs, and right- or left-hand operation. It is environmentally friendly and safer than other conventional chainsaws. It is made for consumers who cut wood for heating, logs for processing, present chainsaw owners, people with disabilities that may not be able to operate a chainsaw.
OBJECTIVES
The developers of the Compound Electric Chainsaw are offering to license the manufacturing and distribution rights to qualified organizations. These organizations should be capable of producing the product and/or accessing the appropriate markets with the product.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY PROTECTION
The Compound Electric Chainsaw is the subject of Patent Pending in Canada and the US. Other territories are being considered on an as needed basis.
