THE SITUATION

As a tradesman, work boots are a part of a worker’s daily uniform and require frequent donning and doffing. However, to avoid it being slack, distributing the tightening force along the length of the threaded zone of the work boot requires time.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Quicklace makes it easy to quickly lace work boots faster and more efficiently. Cam locks can be added to any work boot or other laced footwear that would permit quick tightening and release, both hook and hole style lace grommets. It is easy to install and adjust, and provides quick and safe tightening of boots for frequently going in and out of clean workspaces. When used tight or loose, bootlaces don’t drag on the floor. There is also an optional rod tool that minimizes or eliminates bending to both don and tighten or loosen boot laces.

OBJECTIVES

The developers of the Quicklace are offering to license the manufacturing and distribution rights to qualified organizations. These organizations should be capable of producing the product and/or accessing the appropriate markets with the product.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY PROTECTION

The Quicklace is the subject of Patent granted in Canada and the US.
