THE SITUATION

In order to have optimum performance in the sport of ice skating, the need to maintain a sharp edge is very important. However, most skate sharpeners are either very bulky, time consuming or dangerous for everyday athletes to use.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The Skate Cleaner and Sharpener is a device designed to clean and sharpen skates on the fly. To use the device you and be standing or sitting. Hold the device in your hand and run the blade of the skate through the slit. The slit will clean the ice and snow off your skates giving you a clean and fresh blade for optimum performance. Also as the blade is run through the slit there is a sharpening block in the middle set to a specific degree to provide the appropriate sharpening angle to maintain a grippy edge. 

OBJECTIVES

The developers of the Skate Cleaner and Sharpener are offering to license the manufacturing and distribution rights to qualified organizations. These organizations should be capable of producing the product and/or accessing the appropriate markets with the product.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY PROTECTION

The Skate Cleaner and Sharpener is the subject of Patent Pending in Canada and the US. Other territories are being considered on an as needed basis.
