THE SITUATION

Vehicle manufacturers have added luxury convenience features such as passive vehicle entry and passive start using RF key-fobs. These features have proven to be a desired option for most luxury vehicle owners. However, criminals have found ways to tap into the RF technology allowing them to clone key fobs without the owner’s knowledge.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The Vehicle Theft-Deterrent Device was created to inhibit passive vehicle entry or start by means of RF key fob transmission. When activated, it isolates the vehicle’s passive radio frequency antenna system by placing them offline. To achieve passive entry or start of the vehicle, the anti-theft system must be disabled by the owner, making it impossible to use any RF initiated command to gain passive vehicle entry or achieve passive start with an existing programmed or cloned RF key fob. This device is compact, installation is non-intrusive and is activated and deactivated using a secondary key fob. 

OBJECTIVES

The developers of the Vehicle Theft-Deterrent Device are offering to license the manufacturing and distribution rights to qualified organizations. These organizations should be capable of producing the product and/or accessing the appropriate markets with the product.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY PROTECTION

The Vehicle Theft-Deterrent Device is the subject of Patent Pending in Canada and the US. Other territories are being considered on an as needed basis.
