THE SITUATION

Many people with disabilities often have caregivers that help them navigate certain daily activities.

However, pushing a wheelchair can be uncomfortable when you can’t get your hands in the correct position, especially for a tall person.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The adjustable Wheelchair Clamp allows the user to clamp the handle onto the chair bars and then position it to their desired spot so that pushing the wheelchair is comfortable. Tall people can then push the wheelchair while standing upright, which prevents backache from slouching over the wheelchair. The device is portable and can be easily carried in a carry-on bag or suitcase.

OBJECTIVES

The developers of the Wheelchair Clamp are offering to license the manufacturing and distribution rights to qualified organizations. These organizations should be capable of producing the product and/or accessing the appropriate markets with the product.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY PROTECTION

The Wheelchair Clamp is the subject of Patent Pending in United States. Other territories are being considered on an as needed basis.
