ENTANGLEMENT PREVENTION SYSTEM FOR BREATHING APPARATUS

PREVENT THE ENTANGLEMENT OF FIRE FIGHTERS' EQUIPMENT WITH EXPOSED BUILDING ELEMENTS

The device’s flexible straps and semi-flexible loops help deflect the wires, preventing snags and entrapments dangerous to firefighters

SAFE AND EASY TO USE

PREVENTS WIRES FROM GETTING CAUGHT BETWEEN SCBA BOTTLE AND BACK PLATE

During fire fighter operations, electrical wires and other obstructions can be present that can get caught on the tank or harness of fire fighters, trapping them and causing potentially fatal situations. The Entanglement Prevention System For Breathing Apparatus prevents the entanglement of equipment with exposed building elements.

The flexible straps and the semi-flexible loops help deflect the wires. This greatly reduces the time for extrication with the reduction of points where wires can be caught. The SCBA wire entanglement preventer does not interfere with current methods of changing SCBA bottles or other safety devices. It prevents entanglement by attaching to the backplate and to the shoulder straps of the SCBA. This combined with the flexible self-rescue ring prevents wires from sliding between the backplate and the SCBA bottle. At the bottom of the SCBA the wire entanglement preventer extends around the valve assembly which decreases the chances of wires getting entangled in the valve assembly and first stage regulator but still allows access to turn the bottle on and off and bottle removal. It is safe, easy to use, and helps prevent snags and entrapments dangerous to the life of a firefighter.

THE SELF RESCUE RING CAN BE USED A NUMBER OF WAYS:

  • If there is a downed fire fighter it allows an easy handle to drag the fire fighter to safety
  • If the downed fire fighter is found during a mayday situation a guide rope can be attached to allow additional fire fighters to find them
  • If the fire fighter falls through a floor and is injured, a fire fighter can attach a rope to lift the fire fighter through the hole in the floor (Nance Drill)
  • The rated semi-flexible self-rescue loops on the top makes it easy for other rescue devices to be easily attached without interference.

FEATURES

Why People Will Love The Entanglement Prevention System For Breathing Apparatus

  • Flexible straps attach on shoulder straps of back plate which allow wires to slide over bottle without being caught between the bottle and backplate

  • Flexible self rescue ring on top to allow rope or other rescue device to be attached. It can also be used as a handle for dragging a downed fire fighter

  • Bottom attaches to bottom of backplate and wrapping over the valve assembly of the SCBA bottle but still allows for the pressure gauge to be visible, on/off knob to be easily accessed and the low pressure alarm to be unimpeded

  • Does not interfere with rapid intervention rescue harness US20070192926A1
