SELF-CLEANING HVAC UNIT
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
MISSION STATEMENT
To supply the global market with a self-cleaning commercial rooftop air conditioning system that reduces costs and provides trouble-free operation year-round.
THE SITUATION
Commercial industrial rooftop HVAC units cool a room and provide climate control by filtering air in and out of the room using an ‘air’ cooled condenser. Over time, these condensers become filled with contaminants such as cottonwood, grease, and other fine particles. Because of this, after a year, these units require cleaning by a trained professional to help promote equipment longevity and increase efficiency.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Self-Cleaning HVAC Unit is a commercial rooftop air conditioning system that makes it possible for the unit to clean itself while still in use, reducing breakdown calls and increases equipment longevity. This reduces annual costly cleaning requirements to a quick water treatment change every 3 months and increases efficiency and trouble-free operation year-round. The ergonomic design of the water distribution system fits any rooftop air conditioner, and it is very easy to install. The filtered de-calcifier simply takes water produced by the removal of heat from the indoor airflow, treats it for acid and calcium, then simply sprays it over the condenser foil to cool and clean it. It increases the energy efficiency of the rooftop unit, cleans it automatically, thereby eliminating the need for cleaning external condenser coils.
OBJECTIVES
The developers of the Self-Cleaning HVAC Unit are offering to license the manufacturing and distribution rights to qualified organizations. These organizations should be capable of producing the product and/or accessing the appropriate markets with the product.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY PROTECTION
The Self-Cleaning HVAC Unit is the subject of Patent Pending in Canada and the US. Other territories are being considered on an as needed basis.
