THE SITUATION

Vehicle safety has come a long way with the advent of seat belts, ABS brakes, air bags and crumple zones. These have all made driving safer, however, the biggest problem is still speed at impact which is a result of old and antiquated current braking systems.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The Vehicle Braking Apparatus automatically lowers speed in the event that an accident is about to occur. This apparatus is designed to be installed in front of the rear axel of any passenger or commercial vehicle. Once an imminent collision is sensed, the apparatus will automatically be deployed, causing the rubber material to be forced into the driving surface by the weight of the vehicle, bringing the vehicle to an abrupt stop.

The emergency braking method consists of lowering a large piece of rubber towards the ground and engaging with it. The braking element is to be lowered to the plane of the underside of the car and creates friction, thus slowing the momentum of the vehicle to prevent high impact collisions. 

The lowering of the device will automatically be triggered when sensors dictate an ensuing collision is to occur. When triggered, the large device consisting of rubber or similar material will engage with the ground bringing the vehicle to an abrupt stop. The considerable amount of material engaged with the ground will assist the conventional braking system and may attempt to avert skidding as the device location is in proximity to the rear axle of the vehicle.

The shape and size of the element will allow maximum rubber to make contact with the ground for said vehicle to avoid high speed collision and/or minimize damage and injury. The amount of rubber engaging the ground is considerably increased over standard vehicle tires allowing stabilization and a rapid decrease in speed of the vehicle.

OBJECTIVES

The developers of the Vehicle Braking Apparatus are offering to license the manufacturing and distribution rights to qualified organizations. These organizations should be capable of producing the product and/or accessing the appropriate markets with the product.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY PROTECTION

The Vehicle Braking Apparatus is the subject of Patent Pending in United States. Other territories are being considered on an as needed basis.
