Electronically Controlled Substrate Working Apparatus
AN ADAPTIVE SELF-CORRECTING DRILL SEQUENCE FOR CNC-CONTROLLED MACHINES
Detects when something is wrong within the drilling cycle, increasing machine up-time and eliminating human intervention
HUMAN CAPITAL DECREASE AND PRODUCTIVITY INCREASE
HELPING COMPANIES SAVE ON PRODUCTION COSTS
CNC machines for working substrates (milling machines, drill presses, axial boring machines, lathes, etc) typically use a tool monitoring system to help detect disturbances in machine processing. In some machines, the controls can sense a current draw of the motor connected to the rotary tool to issue an alarm and stop the tool if an increase in current draw occurs, meaning an increase in torque associated with a jam that result in very expensive broken tools and component parts.
Our Adaptive Self-Correcting Drill Sequence for CNC-Controlled Machines helps companies save on production costs. It is an autonomous, self-learning platform wherein the operator is able to set multiple load values per substrate, as well as thresholds for process success or failure. In the event of a failure, the machine will stop and alert the operator so they can return to the machine and take remedial action. In the event of success, the machine will continue on in its journey to complete the task as prescribed, self-adjusting as required within the prescribed load range.
Our device makes it easy to detect when something is wrong within the drilling cycle. With the tool tailored to each individual feature in the work piece, once the maximum spindle load is achieved, the spindle withdrawals, and the machine tool will attempt to complete the feature a number of times. The machine can be set to allow a number of trial cycles before the operator is given warning alerts. It is an advanced technology developed to increase machine up-time and eliminate human intervention.
