Operators of heavy logging equipment are kept safe and comfortable with strong cages and lexan while working. However, the operators can become trapped inside if the exits get obstructed in emergencies such as accidents, rollovers or fires.
The Emergency Escape Cutter solves this by facilitating the evacuation of operators when trapped. This device is designed to be mounted in the cab of heavy equipment for easy access. It has a docking station providing storage and charging for the device when not in use as well as storage for glasses, gloves and masks. The cutter is made to cut through materials like steel and plexiglass for emergency escape. The oval shape of the handle is designed to give the user a good grip while in use, and the blade guard protects the user’s hand and also guards from sparks so the upholstery doesn’t catch on fire.
